Nike SB Dunk Low Premium Strummer After

Nike released a two-part SB Dunk Pack in 2007 to honour Joe Strummer, the lead singer and guitarist of famed English rock band The Clash. The pack was inspired by Strummer's 1966 Fender Telecaster, which he had personalized with black and gray paint over its original sunburst wood finish. Over time, the paint wore off, revealing the guitar's original finish, and this worn-out appearance became iconic in music history. Nike's "Before" and "After" Dunks were designed to showcase the journey of the Fender Telecaster, from its original appearance with Strummer to its final, distressed state. The "Before" Dunk was designed with a multi-coloured suede and leather upper, with black, brown, and cream shades and a white leather toe, inspired by the white acrylics on Fender guitars. The "After" Dunk was designed to represent the heavily used and worn-out instrument, with dark suede and distressed leather, telling the story of a rock star and his beloved guitar.
