Nike SB Dunk High Melvins
In collaboration with Washington grunge rock band Melvins, Nike released two colorways inspired by their music, album covers and general mantra. The Melvins is a metal band that formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington, they are highly recognized for their unique blend of both grunge and sludge metal that paved the way for bands such as Nirvana and Soundgarden. In line with the bold sounds of the rock band, the design of these Nike SBs were as engaging. The two colorways, black and white, were released just before the band began their Fall 2005 Tour of the US. Both pairs are highly sought after. We love both pairs equally and it’s special to have one these great pairs on our vault for sale. The black Melvins are Designed with a heavy black upper, with embossed handwritten lyrics and symbols found across the band's artwork. The skull and crossbones across the toe box highlight the grunge of the genre of music. The pair is finished with a nice dark red outsole.
